Research Focus
The primary mission of our laboratory is to study the cellular mechanisms operative in insulin-sensitive tissues that contribute to the development of insulin resistance on a wholebody level in humans. In addition, our goal is to evaluate phytochemicals that may prove valuable in addressing the underlying pathophysiologic parameters contributing to obesity, metabolic syndrome, and type 2 diabetes.
