Research Focus
The primary focus of the Functional Genomics lab is to explore how genes function, regulate and interact within biological systems. The lab’s main emphasis is on cell-based functional screening of trait-associated novel candidate genes that are discovered through advanced bioinformatics analysis performed in the group. The goal of the Functional Genomics lab is to generate a pipeline of candidate genes for various cardiometabolic traits to be followed through in more detailed animal model studies.
About this Lab
Using advanced techniques like RNA-Seq, CRISPR screening, and epigenomics, lab members aim to decode the molecular mechanisms underlying health and disease. The expertise of lab members spans wet-lab experiments and computational analysis, allowing us to transform complex genomic data into meaningful biological insights. Driven by curiosity and innovation, the lab collaborates with researchers across disciplines to accelerate discoveries that impact medicine, biotechnology, and beyond.
