Research Focus
The Developmental Physiology Laboratory is dedicated to investigating the physiological
mechanisms that underpin pediatric growth and the developmental origins of health
and disease.
About this Lab
The Developmental Physiology Laboratory conducts a translational line of research studies to understand inherited and extrinsic influences on human metabolism in early life. The lab’s current work includes investigating the influence of parental obesity and nutrition on growth of fetal thermogenic tissue and whole-body infant energy expenditure, developing novel stimuli to understand infant metabolism, identifying modulators of early life growth trajectories, and developing interventions to optimize infant growth.
