Research Focus
Advancing population health by translating scientific discovery into real-world solutions that improve health, reduce disparities, and transform communities across Louisiana and beyond.
About the Division
Our research serves as Pennington Biomedical's bridge between scientific discovery and population impact. Building on the Center's internationally recognized expertise in obesity, metabolism, nutrition, physical activity, and chronic disease research, our faculty work to improve the health of populations through research that informs public health practice, healthcare delivery, policy, and community action.
We translate scientific discoveries into scalable solutions that improve health where people live, learn, work, and receive care. Our research advances the prevention and treatment of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and related chronic conditions by integrating epidemiology, behavioral science, nutrition, physical activity, healthcare delivery, and data science. We focus on generating evidence that not only demonstrates what works, but also identifies how to deliver effective interventions equitably, sustainably, and at population scale.
Public Health Researcher Dr. Stephanie Broyles speaks with a student interested in becoming a public health researcher and reveals how the research studies impact the health of the community.
