Didactic Learning and Educational Conferences
Rigorous weekly didactic sessions will cover essential topics of the recently published Handbook of Obesity – edited by Pennington Biomedical faculty. The handbook will be provided complimentary. The topics of focus include obesity pathophysiology, adult and pediatric obesity management, nutrition, behavior treatment strategies, exercise physiology, pharmacology, metabolic surgery and the management of obesity-related comorbidities.
The fellow will participate in weekly obesity science conferences held by Pennington Biomedical faculty, along with periodic guest lectures from world-renowned scientists. In addition, the fellow will attend the complimentary annual Bray Obesity Symposium providing 30+ CME credits toward ABOM board certification.
Our program emphasizes collaboration with other healthcare professionals. Dietitians, psychologists, and exercise physiologists work together to enhance patient care. Further, fellows will be encouraged to collaborate among the 250+ PBRC scientists, faculty, postdocs and support staff.
