Postdoctoral Researchers

The value that postdoctoral trainees play in the mission of Pennington Biomedical can be best demonstrated by how they are treated and respected as emerging junior scientists in the field. It is this “culture” of supporting postdocs that has awarded Pennington Biomedical the distinction of being recognized as one of the highest-ranked institutions in The Scientist’s annual listing of Best Places to Work for Postdocs.

Pennington Biomedical is entering its 23rd year of a T32 grant from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases of the National Institutes of Health, which was renewed for another five-year cycle in 2023.  The funding supports postdoctoral training positions in obesity research. It is the fourth time NIH has chosen Pennington Biomedical for a T32 award, which prepares trainees for careers that significantly impact the nation's health-related research needs.
