Student Positions

Pennington Biomedical Research Center is not currently accepting application for student employees. 


To be eligible for student employment a student must be:

A Full-time Student: Only full-time students can be employed as student employees. Full-time students from other institutions are eligible for employment but LSU students will be given priority.

  • Undergraduate: A student who is enrolled in an undergraduate college for 12 or more semester hours of credit in the fall and spring.
  • Graduate: A student who is enrolled in graduate school for 9 or more semester hours of credit in the fall and spring.

In Good Academic Standing: Student employees are required to be in good academic standing. This is denoted by a student not being on academic probation or warning and having a minimum overall GPA of 2.0.

Summer Eligibility: An undergraduate or graduate student can work during the summer if they meet one of the following requirements:

  • A student who is enrolled for 6 or more semester hours of credit in the summer, may work up to 20 hours per week, or;
  • A student that has completed the prior spring semester as a full-time student and have full-time hours scheduled for the upcoming fall semester, may work up to 40 hours per week.

NOTE: International student employment eligibility is contingent upon the student maintaining their lawful student status.

**Please note that these applications are kept on file for 6 months from the date you applied. If you are still interested in a student position at Pennington Biomedical after those six months, you will need to resubmit an application**
