OPS 2 Study

Study Type

Physical Activity

Study Purpose

During strenuous military missions, warfighters must perform at their best, despite being underfed and sleep deprived during periods of high physical demand. These conditions are associated with performance declines. Pennington Biomedical is building on its long-standing relationship with the U.S. Department of Defense to explore how maintaining normal testosterone levels can preserve male warfighter performance by preventing muscle loss during strenuous missions.

About the Study

The OPS 2 research study will assess the safety and performance effects of supplemental testosterone during simulated, strenuous military stress, including underfeeding, sleep deprivation, and high physical activity levels in healthy, fit young males.
