VITA Study

Study Type

Study Purpose

Kids and teens who struggle with their weight often have an increased risk of developing medical conditions such as diabetes and heart disease in adulthood. Research shows these risks may be reduced with weight loss.

The VITA research study will assess the safety and effectiveness of an investigational drug in children that is FDA-approved for weight loss in overweight and obese adults (marketed as Qsymia® in the United States).

About the Study

Qualified participants will visit the Pennington Biomedical outpatient clinic a total of 16 times over approximately 60 weeks.  Your child will take one capsule of the study drug daily at home in the morning with or without food.
