What: Pennington Biomedical Research Center Opens New Community Based Research Center
The Pennington Biomedical Research Center (PBRC) in partnership with the Family Health
Center of Baton Rouge General has created a new location for Baton Rouge residents
to become involved in the many clinical research trials conducted by Pennington Scientists.
At this new location, Baton Rouge area residents may be screened for participation
and may take part in research trials conducted by PBRC.
Where: The Family Health Center at Baton Rouge General (midcity), 3801 N. Blvd., at the
corner of Wabash and North Blvd.
When: Grand Opening ceremony on May 29, 12:30 pm
Who: You will hear from the Executive Director and a clinical researcher from the Pennington Biomedical Research Center and from the director of the Family Health Center.

The Pennington Biomedical Research Center is at the forefront of medical discovery as it relates to understanding the triggers of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer and dementia. It is a campus of Louisiana State University and conducts basic, clinical and population research. The research enterprise at Pennington Biomedical includes approximately 80 faculty and more than 25 post-doctoral fellows who comprise a network of 44 laboratories supported by lab technicians, nurses, dietitians, and support personnel, and 13 highly specialized core service facilities. Pennington Biomedical's more than 500 employees perform research activities in state-of-the-art facilities on the 222-acre campus located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
