Menopause: Feeling Fit and Fabulous

September 9, 2002—The latest research on nutrition, fitness and mental health for menopausal women will be presented Thursday, September 12, at noon in the main auditorium of the Pennington Biomedical Research Center’s Conference Center, 6400 Perkins Road. Admission is free and includes a light lunch, but reservations are required. Reserve your spot today by calling Pat Ellis at 225/763-3039.

Dr. Jennifer Lovejoy, chief of the Women’s Nutrition Research Center at the Pennington Center of the Louisiana State University system, will spend the lunch hour speaking and answering questions concerning women and menopause. Women can expect to learn about the hormone-replacement controversy and possible alternatives to hormone therapy, the importance of exercise and nutrition in a maturing woman, and tips for managing stress.

Dr. Lovejoy is a research endocrinologist and an associate professor at the Pennington Center. An expert in her field, Dr. Lovejoy has spent the past eight years studying menopause and women’s health.
