Faculty and Staff

The research enterprise at the Center includes approximately 80 faculty and more than 25 post-doctoral fellows who comprise a network of 50 laboratories supported by lab technicians, nurses, dieticians, and support personnel, and 19 highly specialized core service facilities.  The Center's more than 500 employees perform research and support activities.

As a member of the Louisiana State University System, the Pennington Center benefits from close ties with LSU’s Baton Rouge campus, the LSU Medical Center, and the LSU Agricultural Center.

Laboratories
50 research laboratories and 19 core facilities, including genomics, proteomics, clinical chemistry, mass spectrometry, cell culture, comparative biology, transgenic, body composition, and food analysis laboratories.

Clinic & Imaging Center
Outpatient examination and interview rooms, 14 inpatient rooms, metabolic kitchen, metabolic procedure room, two whole-room indirect calorimeters, dual energy X-ray absorptiometry, ultrasound imaging, air displacement plethysmography, MRS, and underwater weighing unit.
