Discusses the importance of regular physical activity and provides tips for healthy eating. The target audience for this presentation is children.

Provides an overview of physical activity and discusses its benefits. The target audience for this presentation is adults.

Discusses factors important in sports nutrition, i.e. carbohydrate loading, protein needs, and fluid needs.

Discusses some of the features of “sound” diet plans and provides information on how to recognize fad diets, the types of fad diets available, and some of the problems associated with these diets. Other types of diet approaches are also discussed, in addition to fad diets.

Summarizes the important features of the book, “The Prenatal Prescription,” by Peter Nathanielsz, M.D., Ph.D. The main theme of the book is that many chronic health effects are programmed early on in the womb. Women can influence this to a large extent by following a healthy lifestyle when pregnant (i.e. providing good nutrition to the fetus, reducing maternal stress, avoiding alcohol, medication (herbal/OTC and prescription) and caffeine)
