Purple Rice Study

Study Type

Study Purpose

The purpose of this research study is to determine if eating purple rice twice daily can improve your blood glucose level and lower your cholesterol more than brown rice.

About the Study

Have you been told you have "pre-diabetes", "borderline diabetes" or that you have type II diabetes?

Pennington Biomedical is looking for individuals with "pre-diabetes", "borderline diabetes" or type II diabetes to participate in a research study. Both "pre-diabetes" and type II diabetes are associated with other health issues and increase your risk for developing future health problems. The purpose of this research study is to determine if adding a new type of rice, called purple rice, to your diet can improve blood sugar, cholesterol and other areas of your health.
