Postdoctoral Clinical/Health Psychology
Job Description:
The Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a research facility with the Louisiana State University System is seeking applicants for a postdoctoral researcher position. The primary responsibilities associated with this position are: 1) assistance in clinical activities related to cognitive-behavior therapy for obesity, eating disorders, and healthy lifestyle, 2) assistance in conducting research studies of the efficacy of internet-based interventions for obesity in adolescents and adults, and 3) preparation of research grant applications and research papers. The fellowship will be available for at least two years with the expectation that advancement to faculty status and continuation of employment may be possible beyond the initial two years. Incumbent will perform other activities as assigned by the Chief of Health Psychology. Supervision will be performed by Donald A. Williamson, Ph.D. Chief of Health Psychology, for clinical activities that can be used for gaining licensure. It is anticipated that over the course of two years, the incumbent of this position will develop independent research projects related to obesity, eating behavior, and health.
Qualifications:
Ph.D in Clinical or Health Psychology with specialization in the fields of obesity, eating disorders, and/or health problems associated with obesity, e.g., diabetes or cardiovascular disease.
