The Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a research campus of Louisiana State University System, invites qualified applicants for the position of Director of Computing Services. This senior administrative position will have the responsibility of Chief Information Officer for the Center defining and shaping the Center's Information Technology (IT) strategy and ensuring that IT is aligned with the Center's research goals. Duties include managing IT professionals, evaluating new technologies, developing departmental operational plans, policies, and budgets, supporting Computing Services departments including the helpdesk, infrastructure, and application development groups, and serving as a resource for computer security and compliances. Pennington Biomedical is seeking an individual with vision and management experience with a proven ability to communicate and collaborate with research faculty and fellow administrators.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and ten or more years of full time IT related work experience in a large organization. Demonstrable ability to plan, manage projects and personnel, and control the delivery of IT services to end users with diversified needs and engage with senior level leadership and key stakeholders. Current knowledge of existing and emerging computer technologies. Desired Qualifications: IT management experience in a research or academic environment.
