EAT 2 Study
Study Type
General Health & WellbeingStudy Purpose
Recent studies have shown that new adipocytes (fat cells) are constantly formed in the human body and that the ability to expand the fat tissue during changes in body weight is important for health.
The EAT 2 research study will look at the changes that occur in the fat tissue as a result of
weight gain (and weight loss) and the effects on your health.
About the Study
Once enrolled, participants will be randomly assigned to either a control (weight stable) or overfeeding group. Both groups will partake in an 8-week dietary intervention program. Participants in the overfeeding group will be provided weight loss treatment for 8-weeks after the intervention.
This study requires 2 overnight stays in the Pennington Biomedical Inpatient Unit.
