Study Purpose
The purpose of this research study is to determine if a new oral medication will help maintain or improve glucose control.
About the Study

Do you have Type 1 diabetes?

Pennington Biomedical is looking for individuals diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes prior to the age of 40, to participate in a diabetes research study. The goal of this trial is to study a new oral medication that will help maintain or improve glucose control.
Study Design

Number of visits:

  • 1 Screening visit
  • 6 Clinic visits
  • 1 two-night inpatient visit
  • 1 one-night inpatient visit

Study procedures:

  • Physical and vitals
  • Multiple EKG’s
  • Multiple blood draws with IV
  • Glucose monitoring device
  • Self-assessed glucose monitoring
  • Study drug/placebo administration

Eligible participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups:

  • Investigational medicine (oral)
  • Placebo
All study-related procedures and medications will be provided at no cost to the participant.
