Pediatrics
Study Purpose
The purpose of this research study is to evaluate the effect of an investigational medicine versus placebo in lowering postprandial glucose (blood sugar level 2 hours after eating) in pediatric patients with Type 2 diabetes.
About the Study

Do you have Type 2 diabetes and are between the ages of 10-17?

If so, you may qualify for a diabetes research study at Pennington Biomedical Research Center.

Until recently, Type 2 diabetes was almost exclusively an adult disease. Coinciding with the increasing prevalence of obesity in children, the incidence of Type 2 diabetes in children and adolescents has markedly increased to the point that it accounts for as many as one third of all the new cases of diabetes diagnosed in adolescents.
