Position Summary:
The Director of Annual Giving is responsible for developing and implementing an effective, comprehensive annual fund program designed to raise unrestricted support to benefit Pennington Biomedical. This role will create and actively engage in annual fund strategies and programs that include the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of annual gifts primarily through personal solicitation. Reporting to the President/CEO, the position will relate directly with a diverse, intellectual and extremely well-educated stakeholder base.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an Annual Giving strategic plan of action with objectives, timelines and evaluation plans for the Annual Giving program (Annual Fund for Excellence)
  • Identify, engage and manage volunteers to support fundraising efforts and goals
  • Personally solicit annual fund gifts ($1,000+) from prospective donors
  • Develop and implement experiential opportunities that engage the community with the organization's mission, including donor tours
  • Manage all special events (fundraising driven)
  • Develop and refine a strong and relevant case for support and related
  • Work closely with Foundation staff to ensure coordination with respective fundraising efforts Maintain and expand a prospect pool of leadership annual gift donors and prospects
  • Manage direct mail fundraising and donor acquisition program
  • Serve as liaison to 3rd party events in support of organization
  • Implement direct mail and email solicitations as well as the Employee Giving Campaign
  • Coordinate effective stewardship and recognition activities for annual fund donors
  • Perform other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned by the President/CEO
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required with three to five years of successful Annual Giving management, nonprofit fundraising, marketing and/or sales experience is preferred
  • Knowledgeable of the principles and practices associated with fundraising in academic setting
  • A results-oriented individual with the ability to work well with volunteers and people at all levels of an organization, warmly developing relationships and employing keen judgment
  • Energetic, collaborative individual with seasoned marketing, pr and/or fundraising skills
  • Strong computer and analytical skills are required along with excellent writing and communication skills
  • Proven organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Must possess a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission of the organization
  • Ability to work some nights and weekends, as needed
