The Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a research facility of Louisiana State University System, is seeking to hire a Research Specialist I in the department of Preventive Medicine. The position will be primarily responsible for the following: supervise exercise interventions in different populations, interface with exercise specific electronic data capture systems, ensure a safe exercise environment for all participants in the study, and other duties as requested to support on-going clinical trials or longitudinal studies in the Preventive Medicine Department.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science or other health related field. Must be highly motivated and organized, and must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with exercise interventions in populations with chronic illness required. Research experience required. Mastery of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access required. Experience developing and supervising exercise prescriptions preferred. Hours of work will be variable, depending upon the demands of the study. Applications will be accepted until a suitable applicant is found.
