| Description: The Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a research facility of Louisiana State University System, seeks a qualified applicant for a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Nutrient Sensing and Adipocyte Signaling Laboratory with Dr. Thomas Gettys. Applicants will pursue NIH and ADA-funded studies aimed at understanding the molecular, cellular, and in vivo mechanisms of a novel dietary modification that remodels the integration of lipid metabolism between liver and adipose and enhances insulin sensitivity. Duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to: handling and processing of tissue samples, RNA extraction, eucaryotic cell culture, cell transfection, western blot, PCR and RT-PCR, assays of cellular metabolism using stable isotopes, transcriptional analysis using next generation sequencing, and metabolomic analysis. Excellent communication skills are an essential qualification and experience working with mice is particularly helpful. Salary is commensurate with training and experience.
